Innovative Way of Onion Production

Onion Plantation in Waste Plastic Bottles
There are many ways to reuse plastic bottles but this could be on of the best ways, because of the advantages of onion production.
Onions not only provide flavor, they also provide important nutrients and health-promoting phytochemicals. High in vitamin C, onions are a good source of dietary fiber, and folic acid. They also contain calcium, iron, and have a high protein quality (ratio of mg amino acid/gram protein). Onions are low in sodium and contain no fat.

ROAD made from waste plastic...!

1. Plastics waste (bags, cups, thermo Cole) made out of PE, PP and PS cut into a size between 2.36mm and 4.75mm using shredding machine, (PVC waste should be eliminated).

2. The aggregate mix is heated to 165°c (as per the HRS specification) and transferred to mixing chamber.
Similarly the bitumen is to be heated up to a maximum of 160°c (HRS Specification) to have good binding and to prevent weak bonding. (Monitoring the temperature is very important).

3.  At the mixing chamber, the shredded plastics waste is to be added. It get coated uniformly over the aggregate within 30 to 60 seconds, giving an oily look.

4. The plastics waste coated aggregate is mixed with got bitumen and the resulted mix is used for road construction. The road laying temperature is between 110°c to 120°c. The roller used is 8-ton capacity.

Princess Kofa

Solid waste management has been the greatest public health threat in Liberian cities. During years of conflict, residents of capital city Monrovia lived without any formal garbage collection and disposal system. Aside from institutional initiatives, local private actors have been building social and sustainable businesses to create a clean and healthy environment for the Liberians. Paynesville Waste Enterprise, owned by Princess Kofa was created in 2010, when paying for garbage was not conceivable to many Liberians.
